SEATTLE - Seattle University softball has added talented transfer Sydney Frankenberger to its 2023 roster, Head Coach Geoff Hirai announced Friday.

"Sydney is a great addition to our team," said Hirai. "She is highly competitive, strong academically and demonstrates a great work ethic, embodying everything we look for in a student-athlete."

Frankenberger joins the Redhawks from Cal Poly after spending three seasons with the Mustangs. Appearing in 83 games as an outfielder, the San Ramon, Calif., native hit a combined average of .283 over those three years. Her best performance last season came in an 8-0 win over Pacific (3/13) where she went three for three, scoring each time, with two RBIs and a stolen base. Frankenberger was named to the 2022 All-Big West Academic List and has two years of eligibility remaining.

The Redhawks enjoyed another successful season under Hirai in 2022, winning 32 games and making it to the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament semifinals.

Frankenberger joins Hadley Dunham and Ava Sin as new additions to the Seattle U roster.
