Women's Tennis Starts Season at EWU Hidden Dual

CHENEY, Wash., - Seattle U women's tennis will open its 2022 – 23 season tomorrow in Cheney, Washington at the EWU Hidden Dual, hosted by Eastern Washington. The event is scheduled to be held at the EWU Tennis Courts starting on September 30.

CHENEY, Wash., - Seattle U women's tennis will open its 2022 – 23 season tomorrow in Cheney, Washington at the EWU Hidden Dual, hosted by Eastern Washington. The event is scheduled to be held at the EWU Tennis Courts starting on September 30. 

Three new athletes will be competing for the first time for Seattle U, two of which are freshmen, and the other a grad transfer. Shuanghu Huang is a freshman from Kunmin, Yunnan, China. Her resume incldues tournament wins at the 2016 IMG Tennis Master Series, 2017 LAC level six and 2017 Vencedora Open.  

Lola Tavcar is the other freshmen, joining from Vienna, Austria. Tavcar joins after demonstrating strong play in 2021. She won the Austrian National Championship under 18 in the doubles bracket, while also posting second place finishes in doubles at the ITF J3 Wels and the Austrian National Championship. 

Finally, Marija Elenova will be playing for the first time for the Redhawks. Elenova hails from Skopje, Macedonia, and transferred to Seattle U from the University of Portland. Her resume includes being a member of the 2018 Republic of Macedonia National Fed Cup Team, being a member of the Macedonian National Team in junior competition in all age groups and being the No. 3 ranked player in Macedonia.
