RIVERSIDE - Seattle U women's soccer concedes a late goal as they fell to California Baptist, 0-1, Saturday night in Riverside.
"We played a complete game against a very tough California Baptist team," said head coach Julie Woodward. "At the end of the day we were just missing the fun part of scoring goals."
The Redhawks and Lancers battled back-and-forth with quality opportunities for both sides through the first 80 minutes of the match, but neither side could find the go-ahead goal. CBU was able to finally find the back of the net in the 81st minute and would go on to win the match with their lone goal.
It was the first loss on the conference season for Seattle U who now moves to 4-5-2 (1-1-1, 4pts) on the season.
The road swing will continue for the Redhawks as they travel to Phoenix on Friday, Sep. 30, to face Grand Canyon. It is an all-time series that Seattle U has dominated, but are currently on a two game losing streak to the Lopes. Kickoff from the desert is scheduled for 7 pm PT.
