SEATTLE – Seattle U swimming head coach Joe Dykstra announced the addition of Becky Woodruff to the Redhawks staff for the 2022–2023 season.

"I am so excited to have Becky join the staff," said Head Coach Joe Dykstra. "She swam at a very high level, has lots of experience coaching, and brings a very high degree of intellect and knowledge to our program.  More than anything, it is her positive energy, enthusiasm, and other intangible attributes that are going to have the biggest impact for us."

Woodruff joins the Redhawks after spending the last five years as the lead coach for the Cascade Swim Club-Queen Anne site. At Queen Anne, she led the training and development of swimmers, while leading them into the senior level of swimming.

In addition to having an immense amount of coaching experience, Woodruff also has exceptional experience as a collegiate swimmer. She swam at the University of North Carolina from 2003–2007, where she graduated with a BS in Biology. While at UNC, she was the team captain her junior and senior years. Woodruff was also a critical part of the Tar Heels winning the ACC Championship during the 2007 season.

After her stellar career at UNC, Woodruff attended Duke University, where she earned her PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from 2007–2013. While at Duke, her thesis research was focused on developing the aptamer drug platform as an anticoagulant therapy.
