SEATTLE – Beverly Verduin, a Seattle U alum and daughter of Seattle U Hall of Famer Sue (Stimac) Verduin, has joined the Redhawk athletics staff as an Assistant Athletic Director for Development, Associate AD for Development Lindsey Scott-Anderson announced Tuesday.

"We are thrilled that Beverly has returned to Seattle U to join our staff," said Scott-Anderson. "Beverly embodies all that it means to be a Redhawk – dedication to her community, a great attitude and an impressive drive to achieve. She will be a wonderful asset to our team, bringing enthusiasm and a deep understanding of what makes Seattle U so special."

Verduin comes to Seattle U after spending the last two years working in philanthropy at Goodwill. She began as a Philanthropy Coordinator and was promoted to Philanthropy Officer, raising philanthropic funds to support Goodwill's free job training and education programs. In her Philanthropy Officer role, Verduin focused on building out emerging major gifts program, and executing our departments major giving strategies, along with sponsorship for their annual fundraising event.

"I am beyond grateful and excited to be back at Seattle U working with an all-star development team and athletics staff," said Verduin. "Lindsey, Al (Grigsby) and Nicole (Marafino) bring so much to this team already – I consider myself lucky getting to work with them and learn from them."

Born and raised in Seattle, Verduin attended Ballard High School, then went on to play basketball at Central Washington University (2014-18) while earning a degree in Social Services.

She then became the third in her family (following her mother and brother) to attend Seattle U, earning a Master of Nonprofit Leadership degree from SU in 2020. During 2019-20, she also worked as a graduate assistant with the Seattle U Athletics development team.

"I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to work with alumni, family, friends and fans of our programs to help our Redhawk student athletes achieve success on and off the field," Verduin said. "I was born and raised a Redhawk, so the opportunity to do what I love at SU feels extra special."
