SEATTLE - Seattle U women's soccer opened their 2022 regular season campaign with a 0-0 draw vs Air Force on Thursday.
The Redhawks came out as the aggressors and nearly had the go-ahead goal in the 5' when a Brooke Wilson shot just went off the frame of the goal. SU had a couple more looks in the first half but weren't able to find the opening goal as the halftime score was knotted at zero.
Despite the lack of a goal, the Redhawks continued their impressive defensive ways. Jessica Berlin was a perfect 2-for-2 on save opportunities in goal, as the Redhawks rode their stifling defense to a draw on opening night.
The Redhawks and Falcons ended the night even on shots (7), with Air Force having two of theirs on frame and SU with none.
It will be a quick turnaround for the Redhawks as Fresno State comes to town on Saturday, Aug. 20. The Bulldogs and Redhawks are scheduled for a 7:00 pm PT kickoff. Saturday's game will also be Kids Day at Championship Field, with fun activities throughout the match including a schedule poster giveaway with post game autographs.
