NORMAN, Okla. – Nathan Cogswell, Federico Gutierrez, Blake Kukula and Jack Rahon of Seattle U men's golf have all been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Thursday.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
440 NCAA Division I athletes from 157 schools earned 2021-22 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-American Scholar honors.
Cogswell adds another award to his very successful 2021-22 season, becoming the first Redhawk to earn medalist honors at the WAC Championships and be named to back-to-back All-WAC First Teams. Rahon joined him on the All-WAC list as a Second Team member, while Gutierrez and Kukula were integral parts of Seattle U's lineup.
This marks the third year in a row that the Redhawks have received at least three individual honorees, including three consecutive honors for Cogswell and Rahon. All four were named to the All-WAC Academic team back in June.
