ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Seattle U Redhawks rode lights-out pitching and rock-solid defense to a pair of wins at Dixie State, sweeping the doubleheader 2-1 and 3-1. The Redhawks move to 28-22 overall and 14-9 in WAC play with the pair of wins today.
Madison Kahwaty drove in three of Seattle U's five runs across the doubleheader, knocking doubles in both games. Stefanie Madrigal and Grace Luderer were excellent in the circle, combining to allow just eight hits in 14 innings of work.
GAME ONE
A fifth-inning rally by the Redhawks was all the offense needed in a pitcher's duel that Seattle U took 2-1. The Redhawks put four runners on in the fifth, the only inning of the game for either team with multiple baserunners.
Madrigal allowed only one runner to reach scoring position, coming in the seventh inning, in a masterful performance. The junior allowed only three hits and four total baserunners in her 15th win of the season. Madrigal would retire 11 straight batters before back-to-back hits from Dixie State started the seventh.

GAME TWO
The Redhawks jumped ahead early, scoring all of their runs in the first inning to take the lead for good. A double by Kahwaty in just the third at-bat of the game was enough for Seattle U, with Dixie State putting just two runners on base in the final five innings of the 3-1 win.
Luderer was near unhittable in the circle. After allowing a run and five baserunners in the first two innings, Luderer retired 15 of 17 batters to end the game, with Dixie State putting just six balls out of the infield the rest of the way. Luderer would retired 13 in a row at one point in the game as she cruised to her seventh win of the season.

GAME ONE SCORING
- Fifth Inning: Brooke Milder's leadoff double, just the second runner to reach scoring position for either side on the day, keyed the Redhawk rally. Olivia Viggiano beat out a hard grounder to short with two outs to score Milder, making it 1-0. Kahwaty would add to the lead with an RBI single.
- Seventh Inning: Back-to-back hits by Dixie State cut it to a 2-1 game. The Redhawks got a popup and a smooth 6-4-3 double play to end the game after that.

- Second Inning: Dixie State got one back with a sacrifice fly in the second, scoring just ahead of the tag.
