SEATTLE - After throwing 12 shutout innings in two Seattle U wins, Carley Nance earned her fourth career WAC Pitcher of the Week award. This is Nance's first Pitcher of the Week award of the season and her second weekly award this year, having already earned Hitter of the Week in March.

Nance was excellent in her two starts for Seattle U, blanking Utah Valley in two shutout victories. The graduate student threw five shutout innings, allowing only two hits in Seattle U's 8-0 five-inning win. In her second start, Nance shutout Utah Valley across seven innings, allowing only six hits.

Nance has now allowed just two earned runs in five WAC pitching appearances, allowing five total runs. Nance has more shutouts (three) than earned runs allowed (two) in WAC play this year. Her 0.40 WAC ERA leads the league by over a run, with Stephen F. Austin's Kassidy Wilbur the closest at 1.54. After walking two batters at New Mexico State in her first WAC action of the year, Nance has allowed just one walk in her last 33 innings, striking out 31 in that time.

This is Nance's fifth WAC weekly award in her career. She is the first Redhawk ever to earn both Hitter and Pitcher of the Week in their careers, earning both this season.
