DENVER, Colo. - Seattle U men's golf senior Harrison Murphy has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Men's Golfers of the Week, for the week of April 21-26, the WAC announced on Wednesday.
Murphy was the top finisher for the Redhawks, tying for seventh overall in a career best performance of four-under 212 (71-74-67). The native of McKinney, Tex., posted a career low round of four-under 67 in the final round to move up 16 spots to conclude his highest overall finish. Murphy's was at his best on the par three, finishing tied for third in scoring (one-under) and average (2.92). This is the senior's first career weekly conference honor and the sixth total WAC Golfer of the Week award the team has earned this season.
Murphy and the Redhawks will begin postseason play at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada, with the WAC Championships from Apr. 29-May 1.
