RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Seattle U Redhawks split a pair of pitcher's duels, winning 5-1 in ten innings, then falling 1-0 on a walkoff at California Baptist. Both Carley Nance and Grace Luderer were excellent in the circle, combining to allow just two runs in 17 innings of work, striking out 16.
The Redhawks are 24-19 overall and 10-7 in WAC play after today's two games.
GAME ONE
It was Lily Garcia that came up big time and again, driving in three runs for the third straight game. Garcia had the big hit to give Seattle U the early 1-0 lead, then ripped another double in the tenth inning to break the 1-1 tie. Brooke Milder also came up big with a two-run extra-innings base knock.
Nance's dominance in the circle continued as she threw a career-long ten innings, allowing only one run. Nance allowed just four baserunners to reach scoring position all game long, including just two after the first inning. In all, she would strike out seven batters and walk none as she went the distance.
The Redhawks matched their season high with eight walks, showing patience at the plate to jumpstart the offense. Seattle U would put 16 runners on in the game, with Olivia Viggiano, Madison Kahwaty, Nance, Garcia, and Kamryn Coleman all reaching multiple times. Coleman and Nance combined for five walks between them.

GAME TWO
Luderer was excellent throughout the game, facing the minimum through three innings and only allowing one hit through the first five. Luderer would not allow a baserunner to reach scoring position until two outs in the seventh inning, only for that baserunner to end up the only run of the game.
Seattle U had its chances but couldn't push a run across in the second game of the day. The Redhawks put at least one runner on in each of the final six innings of the game but couldn't find that second big hit to get a run across. The best chance for the offense came in the fifth, when a double by Coleman gave the Redhawks a runner in scoring position with just one out.

GAME ONE SCORING
- Third Inning: With two outs, Garcia's double to the right-center gap was enough to bring Kalyn Hill motoring around from first for the game's first run.
- Seventh Inning: The Redhawks nearly ended the game on what would have been a flyout double play, only for CBU's runner to inch her foot in just before the tag to tie the game up at 1-1 and send it to extras.
- Tenth Inning: The Redhawks put five straight batters on to start the inning and burst back in front, taking the lead on two-run hits from Garcia and Milder to make it 5-1.
