EUGENE, Ore. - Seattle U track and field will make its final trip to Hayward Field Friday to compete in the Oregon Relays in Eugene, Oregon.
The Oregon relays will span across two days, Apr. 22-23, at the prestigious Hayward Field. Hayward Field is scheduled to host the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships as well as the IAAF World Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 2022. This will be the second time this season Seattle U athletes will compete at the 250 million dollar track and field only facility.
Friday's events open with the men's 2000m steeplechase and discus at 11 a.m., while Saturday's action kicks off at 10 a.m. with the women's javelin in the field events and the 800m open at 11 a.m. in the running events. On both sides, the meet will feature Oregon, Portland, Western Oregon and Wisconsin, while Gonzaga will compete only on the men's and Oregon State only on the women's.

Last week, the Redhawks set another 12 top-ten marks and 16 personal records (PR). Sophomore Maya McCabe posted three second overall all-time program marks in the 400m, 800m and as part of the 4x400m relay. The Ben Lomond, California, native posted the fourth best overall time in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) of 2:08.88 in the 800m Thursday and started Friday running a 57.00 in the 400m which was good enough for second all-time at Seattle U. McCabe concluded the event leading off the 4x400m relay team that posted a time of 3:54.90, .19 off the school record time.
