MEET PREVIEW: Bryan Clay Inv., MT. Sac Relays

Seattle U track and field will split up for a second consecutive time in the 2022 outdoor season, competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, and the Mt. Sac Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College. The majority of Seattle U athletes will compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational with a select few runners going to the Mt. Sac Relays. SU will have 14 men and 17 women total competing in sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, mid distance, distance and relays over the two events.

AZUSA, Calif. - Seattle U track and field will split up for a second consecutive time in the 2022 outdoor season, competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific, and the Mt. Sac Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College. The majority of Seattle U athletes will compete in the Bryan Clay Invitational with a select few runners going to the Mt. Sac Relays. SU will have 14 men and 17 women total competing in sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, mid distance, distance and relays over the two events. 

The 52nd Bryan Clay Invitational will span across three days, Apr. 13-15, at Cougar Stadium in Azusa, California. The Redhawks will be competing in Thursday's and Friday's events with Thursday starting at 7 a.m. with the men's 10k open and Friday's action beginning at 9 a.m. with the men's hammer throw.

Among the schools set to compete are Northern Arizona, New Mexico, Iowa State, Michigan State, BYU, Arkansas, Colorado, Portland, Washington, Montana State, Wyoming, Utah, Georgetown, Portland State, Adams State, Grand Valley State, Chico State, Drake, Notre Dame. The meet is expected to have more than 4,500 athletes and over 500 programs competing. 

The 62nd Mt. Sac Relays will also take place across three days, Apr. 14-16, at the newly renovated Hilmer Lodge Stadium. On the women's side, Seattle U will send redshirt junior Rowan Cuadrado, sophomore Emily Harris and freshman Lilianne Hargreaves, while the men's team will take sophomore Gus Harquail. All of them will be competing in the 3000m steeplechase with the women's event starting at 5 p.m. and the men's beginning at 6:05 p.m.

Last time out, Seattle U set two school records, nine top-ten marks and 23 new personal records (PR). Senior Tricht Jocelyn set her sixth school record mark of the year in the 100m with a time of 12.07, which is .02 better than the previous record she set last season. Junior Lucas Milne set a new school record in the 110m, marking his third school record set this year. Milne beat the previous school record set by D'Andre Benjamin back in 2008 by .17 with his time of 15.51.
