SEATTLE - Despite taking the lead five different times, Seattle U baseball fell in extra innings to Washington, 5-6, Tuesday night at Husky Ballpark in Seattle.

SEATTLE - Despite taking the lead five different times, Seattle U baseball fell in extra innings to Washington, 5-6, Tuesday night at Husky Ballpark in Seattle. 

The Redhawks finally broke through in a scoreless game, when Shane Jamison hit a solo homerun in the fourth inning, his fourth of the season. Grant Heiser would come around and score on a Washington throwing error a few plays later and SU had a 2-0 lead. 

The Huskies bats were shutdown by the Redhawks pitching staff early on, as SU carried a no hitter into the sixth inning before Washington finally got on base with a single. Seattle U would only allow four base hits in nine innings of play. 

Washington would eventually tie the ballgame up in the ninth inning on a sacrifice fly, after getting a run across in the eight. 

The Redhawks would score in all three extra innings, including a Jackson Reed homerun in the 11th. Washington matched them in each inning of play and eventually got the walk-off win after getting the bases loaded in the bottom of the 12th. 

Then loss dropped the Redhawks to 2-8 on the season and 1-8 in road games. 

On deck for Seattle U is a conference three game series with New Mexico State starting Friday, March 11 in Las Cruces. Friday's first pitch is schedueld for 2:00 pm and can be streamed live on thew WAC Digital Network.
