SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Seattle U men's tennis concluded its weekend trip to California on Sunday against Sacramento State on the Sacramento State Tennis Courts in Sacramento. The Hornets got off to a fast start and never let up, winning 4-0 in a shortened match on their home courts.
Sac State opened the match by claiming the doubles point. Sophomore Mats Krause and freshman Michael Frank (1-6) paired against Ori Maior and Jan Silva, while junior Lars Schmassmann and freshman Filip Stipic (2-6) teamed up against Rudolfs Aksenoks and Patrick Wong. The remaining doubles match went unfinished as Sacramento State had already won the point.
In singles play, sophomore Julian Worn (3-6, 3-6) faced off against Mark Keki, while freshman Veselin Kiselkov (4-6, 2-6) battled against Silva and Krause (4-6, 3-6) fell to opponent Aksenoks. The remaining singles matches went unfinished as the Hornets had already clinched the victory.
The Redhawks will be back in action next weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada, for matches against UNLV and DePaul on Saturday and Sunday in the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Saturday's match will begin at 2 p.m., while Sunday's match starts at 10 a.m.
