DAVIS, Calif. - Seattle U men's tennis opened its two day road trip Saturday at the Marya Welch Tennis Center in Davis, California, against UC Davis. The Aggies got off to a strong start and never let up, winning 6-1 on their home courts.

Sophomore Julian Worn earned the Redhawks lone point on the afternoon, defeating Andrei Volgin 7-6 (12-10), 7-6, for his sixth singles victory of the season. Freshman Filip Stipic (1-6, 3-6) faced off against Ryan Torres, while fellow freshman Veselin Kiselkov (1-6, 3-6) battled against Ryan Morgan and sophomore Mats Krause fell in identical sets of 1-6, 1-6, against Andras Necz. Freshman Michael Frank (1-6, 6-7 (10-12)) fell short of starting a comeback against Brett Brinkman, while junior Lars Schmassmann (1-6, 2-6) rounds out singles play against Mitchell Davis.

The Aggies began the match by claiming the doubles point. Krause and Frank (3-6) win streak came to an end at five after falling to Brinkman and Necz, while Stipic and Hall (4-6) paired against Coleton Hootman and Davis. The remaining doubles match went unfinished because UC Davis had already claimed the doubles point.

Seattle U will conclude its California trip against Sacramento State at the Campus Tennis Center in Sacramento with doubles play starting the match at 1 p.m.
