SEATTLE - Carley Nance earned Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week after helping the Seattle U Redhawks earn their 14th consecutive WAC series win. This is Nance's fourth career WAC weekly award and first Player of the Week award. Nance has earned Pitcher of the Week from the WAC three times in her career, last doing so in 2019.
Nance homered in all three games at Utah Valley last weekend to add to her career-high home run and RBI totals. Nance now leads the WAC in RBI with 38 and is third in home runs with nine. Over three games at Utah Valley, Nance hit .500/.583/1.500 with four extra-base hits before being intentionally walked in her final two plate appearances. Nance's offensive outburst helped the Redhawks set a new program record for single-game scoring and single-game hits, scoring 16 runs on 25 hits in the series finale.
Nance has driven in runs in six of her last seven appearances, with 12 RBI in that time. She has ten games with multiple RBI this year and has hit two grand slams to give her five in her career. That includes a grand slam in game one against Utah Valley last weekend.
This is the second weekly award of the year for the Redhawks, with Stefanie Madrigal earning Pitcher of the Week earlier this year. Nance is the ninth Redhawk ever to earn Player of the Week from the WAC. Seattle U has earned five WAC Player of the Week awards since the beginning of 2021.
