HAVING A WAC-Y TIME
After taking two of three games from CBU, the Redhawks have now won 13 consecutive WAC series, building on a program record. Seattle U has not lost a WAC series since 2018, when it dropped two of three games at New Mexico State. Since that time, the Redhawks are 34-8 in WAC play, including 6-0 in the WAC Tournament. The Redhawks have gone 8-4 in series openers in that time.
MORE LIKE STEFANIE MADRIGA-W
Stefanie Madrigal remains undefeated against WAC opponents in her career, going 6-0 in ten appearances in conference play. The Redhawks are 7-3 in games in which Madrigal pitches during WAC play. Madrigal has a 2.51 ERA in WAC play in her career. This year, she is the only WAC pitcher with an ERA under 2.00, sitting at 1.97.
AGAINST UTAH VALLEY
Since moving to Division I, Seattle U is 16-10 all-time against Utah Valley, having only lost a series to the Wolverines once, in 2017. Seattle U is 6-1 over the last three years against Utah Valley, with five of those six games in Orem, Utah. Last season, Carley Nance hit .462 with at least one RBI in every game against Utah Valley while also pitching to a 2.23 ERA in three appearances.
RECORD BOOK RUNNING
Olivia Viggiano is near several milestones in the Seattle U record book. Viggiano needs one triple to tie Paige Bouska for the career record of 11. She can quickly move up the all-time runs scored standings as well: three more runs would tie Viggiano with Katie Antich for fifth, while five more would tie her with Bouska for fourth.
GRACE WITH A K
Grace Luderer needs just one more strikeout to become the seventh pitcher in the WAC and first freshman with 50 strikeouts this season. Luderer and Carley Nance are the only pitchers in the WAC's top ten in strikeouts to throw under 50 innings this year. Luderer's 7.35 K/7 is sixth in the WAC and fourth in the West Division.
PASS THE BAT
Tai Wilson is hitting .318 when batting ninth this season, 84 points higher than when batting in any other position. Wilson has hits in two of the last three games and has not gone hitless in back-to-back games since February 25 and 26, a span of 16 games.
PLAYING SOME CATCH(ER)
Kalyn Hill has started 28 games at catcher this season already. That is the second-most starts at catcher by a freshman in Seattle U's Division I history, behind only Bubba Morrow in 2012. Hill has caught eight runners stealing already. Only two catchers in Seattle U's Division I history have caught double-digit runners stealing in a single season: Sara Dominguez (10 in 2016), and Bubba Morrow (11 in 2015, 15 in 2014, 16 in 2013, and 13 in 2013).
