DENVER, Colo. - Seattle U women's golf freshman Rivekka Jumagulova and graduate student Keisha Lugito have been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Co-Women's Golfers of the Week, for the week of March 9-15, the WAC announced on Wednesday.
Jumgulova (78-73-70) and Lugito (76-72-73) were Seattle U's best performers at the Pizza Hut Lady Thunderbird Invitational, tying for fifth overall and earning SU a second place team finish.
Jumgulova continues her impressive freshman campaign, earning her third WAC weekly honor of the season. The Almaty, Kazakhstan, native improved her performance every round, finishing fifth in par four average (4.03) and scoring (one-over) and second in made pars (37). This marks the freshman phenoms third top-five finish of the season with one of those being a first place finish at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational.
Lugito led the field in par four average (3.87) and scoring (four-under) in her second best performance of the season. This marks the Walnut, Calif., native first career WAC weekly award.
Collectively, the Redhawks have earned five WAC Golfers of the Week already this season.
The Redhawks' next tournament will take them to Maricopa, Arizona, for the Cowgirl Classic, hosted by Wyoming, from Apr. 4-5.
