PALM DESERT, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf continues its spring slate of tournaments Wednesday with the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, California. The three day, 54 hole event is scheduled to take place from Mar. 2-4 at the Classic Club on the 7,305 yards course with a par of 72. All three days will feature shotgun starts, teeing off at 7 a.m.
The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Charlotte, Colorado, Dixie State, Long Beach State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Oral Roberts, Southern Utah, Texas State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UT Arlington UTSA and the hosts, Wyoming. Seattle U will send seniors Nathan Cogswell, Federico Gutierrez and Jack Rahon, sophomore Blake Kukula and freshman Liam Gill.
Seattle U seniors Nathan Cogswell (70-75-74) and Jack Rahon (74-72-73) started off the spring schedule with a strong performance at the Orange County Classic, tying for second with three-round totals of 219. Rahon led the field in par four scoring, shooting an average of 3.9 and being four strokes better than the next best golfer. Cogswell was consistent throughout the tournament, making 12 birdie puts over the two-day event. Both seniors were named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Co-Men's Golfers of the Week for their performances.
