DENVER - The Western Athletic Conference announced its end-of-season awards for the 2021-22 campaign, with Seattle U's Bree Calhoun earning WAC Sixth Woman of the Year, Second Team All-WAC, and WAC All-Defensive Team.

"Bree played some of her most complete games off the bench and was an injection of energy that really helped the team," said Suzy Barcomb. "She is at her best when she is locked in on both sides of the floor like that."

This is the second consecutive year that Calhoun has earned All-WAC, All-Defensive, and a league-wide player of the year honor. Calhoun was named WAC Defensive Player of the Year, All-WAC Honorable Mention, and WAC All-Defensive after the 2020-21 season.

Calhoun is the first Redhawk ever to earn WAC Sixth Woman of the Year. She is one of five Redhawks ever to earn a league-wide player of the year honor, along with Kacie Sowell, Kamira Sanders, Sylvia Shephard, and Kallin Spiller. Calhoun and Sanders are the only Redhawks to earn multiple league-wide player of the year awards.

Calhoun joins Alexis Montgomery, Taelor Ross, Kaycie Sowell, and Sylvia Shephard as the only Redhawks ever to earn multiple All-WAC honors. Calhoun, Montgomery, and Shephard are the only Redhawks to earn All-Defensive honors multiple times.

This year, Calhoun record 70+ steals, joining Daidra Brown as the only Redhawks ever to record multiple seasons of 70+ steals. She has recorded at least one steal in every game this season and in 49 consecutive games, only going without a steal in two of her 52 career games with the Redhawks. Calhoun recorded seven steals against UTRGV, matching her career high and coming one away from the single-game Seattle U record.
