SEATTLE – The dynamic duo of McKenzi Williams and Bree Calhoun combined for 50 points in Seattle U's 81-73 overtime win over New Mexico State. The Redhawks relied on a suffocating defense, forcing 21 turnovers, including 14 in the first half alone, and put together an offensive torrent in overtime to secure the win.

Seattle U trailed for just 12 minutes all game long and for just ten seconds after halftime. There was no answer for Williams, who had a season-high 25 points and led the team with three assists, or Calhoun, who set a new career high with 25 and racked up four steals.

That duo had 17 points on 5-for-6 shooting in the fourth quarter, carrying the Redhawks offense to a 21-point quarter.

Two three-pointers and a three-point play from New Mexico State forced overtime, with the final three coming with just four seconds left in the game. The Redhawks held strong despite the possible momentum swing: after New Mexico State scored the first bucket of overtime, Seattle U went on a 13-3 run over the last 4:50 of overtime to secure the win.

Peyton Howard had ten points for the Redhawks, her second double-digit output of the season. Taliyah Clark came off the bench with eight points and five rebounds, tying Georgia Kehoe for the team lead in rebounds.

It will be just two days before the Redhawks face New Mexico State again, this time in Las Cruces, New Mexico on Tuesday, February 8 at 1:00 pm.
