SEATTLE - Seattle U track and field has added another meet to its schedule, the Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier, taking place at the Dempsey Indoor Facility on the campus of Washington on Saturday, February 26. The event will be closed to spectators.
The track and field events are scheduled to start at 4:15 p.m. with the women's distance medley relay and men's triple jump. The day concludes at 7:27 p.m. with the men's 60m hurdles finals. The meet is planned for a rolling schedule with the estimated start times listed HERE.
Seattle U will send three runners to this event in juniors James Parker and Ansel Pendley-Griffin as well as All-WAC Second Team member in the 800m, Alex Franklin. They will compete in the men's mile, starting at 4:49 p.m., while Franklin will also compete in the men's 800m at 5:53 p.m.
The men's field consists of Central Washington, Concordia, George Fox, Lewis & Clark, Linfield, Pacific, Pacific Lutheran, Pomona-Pitzer, Puget Sound, Seattle Pacific, UC Santa Cruz, Western Oregon, Western Washington and Whitworth.
At the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Championships, Franklin posted a new PR in the 800m prelims and earned Second Team All-WAC honors in the event. Parker was just about one second off setting a new PR in the mile, finishing in 10th overall after qualifying for the finals.
