CG STEFANIE
Stefanie Madrigal earned another two complete-game wins last weekend. In four of her five starts, Madrigal has allowed one run in complete-game wins. Madrigal has now taken just one loss in her last 19 appearances for the Redhawks. She has eight complete games in that time and has allowed one or fewer earned runs in 11 of those. Madrigal had seven career complete games entering this season, earning the CG in 30% of her starts. This year, she is on pace for 20 complete games, which would be the fifth-most in Seattle U history and most by anyone but Erin Martin.
CAR-B-I
Carley Nance had another RBI this weekend, coming against UIC. Nance now has at least one RBI on six of her seven hits this season and 12 of her last 13, stretching back to last season. Since the start of the 2021 season, Nance has driven in a run on 77% of her hits. She needs just two more RBI to reach 75 in her career and ten more to move into Seattle U's all-time top ten, tying Megan MacIsaac with 83.
NO HITS ALLOWED
Through her first five appearances, Grace Luderer has allowed just seven hits, with no opponents managed a hit per inning. Luderer already set the Seattle U record with 15 strikeouts in her first ten career innings. Murray State is the only opponent to record more than two hits against Luderer, with four in 4.1 innings. Opponents are currently hitting .194 against Luderer: no Redhawk has ever had an opponent batting average under .210 in a full season.
DEFENSE FIRST
The Redhawks have just six errors through the first ten games of the season, the lowest total in the WAC. Only two of the 20 Redhawks to appear this year have multiple errors. 13 Redhawks have played in the field and still maintain a perfect fielding percentage. Seattle U's .981 team fielding percentage leads the WAC: only one team, California Baptist, has a fielding percentage with 20 points of Seattle U, sitting a .970.
STEALING IS GOOD
Olivia Viggiano moved to second in Seattle U history in steals, tying Alyson Matriotti and Sarah Petosa with 43. Viggiano is third in the WAC in steals with five, having already recorded two multi-steal games this season. Viggiano has led the Redhawks in steals twice in her career. If she were to do so again this year, she would join Petosa as the only Redhawks ever to lead the team in steals in at least three different seasons.
MADOKORO GO-GO
Mekenzie Madokoro has reached base safely in three straight plate appearances, with a single and two walks against Stanford. In her last three games, Madokoro has been perfect at the plate twice. She is hitting .500 after starting the year 1-for-5 in her first three games.
