RIVERSIDE, Calif.  – The Seattle U Redhawks had a big display offensively early on and cut it close late but fell 73-83 to California Baptist on the road. The Redhawks made it a six-point game with a minute left before free throws stretched the final margin to ten.

"The transition game was our Achilles' heel today," said Suzy Barcomb. "We continued to battle back and got within six but just couldn't get over the final hump."

It was a back-and-forth contest all game long, as big runs from both sides saw the lead change hands ten times. Seattle U would build as large as a seven-point lead in the game, coming during a second-quarter stretch that saw CBU go without a point for over three full minutes.

That was one of many long defensive stretches from the Redhawks. Seattle U also held California Baptist without a field goal for the final four minutes of the game, but the Lancers went 8-for-10 at the line in the final frame to hold on to the lead.
