ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - Seattle U track and field heads to Albuquerque, New Mexico, Friday to compete in the 2022 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center from February 18-19.
Competing in this year's conference championship will be Chicago State, Grand Canyon, Tarleton, UTRGV and Utah Valley with Dixie State and New Mexico State featuring only in the women's events. They will also be joined by athletes from the four WAC newcomers in Abilene Christian, Lamar, Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin.
Of the WAC newcomers, three have women's teams that rank within the top-15 of the South-Central Region, according to United States Track and Field and Cross-Country Association (USTFCCCA). Stephen F. Austin ranks the best at seventh, while Sam Houston holds the 11th spot and Abilene Christian ranks one behind them at 12. On the men's side, Stephen F. Austin team ranks ninth, while Abilene Christian sits right at 15.

Seattle U track and field has enjoyed a successful indoor season so far, setting four school records, posting 26 new top-10 marks and 45 new personal bests (PRs). Junior Lucas Milne set the first school record with a time of 8.64 in the 60m hurdle that was .11 faster than the previous record that was held for 14 years.
Senior Tricht Jocelyn would go on to set the next three, twice in the 60m and once in the 200m. Jocelyn posted two new school records at the WSU Open & Invite, first in the 60m prelims (7.76) and then continued that record breaking pace later in the day with a 25.31 in the 200m. The Fort Myers, Florida, native posted an even better time of 7.73 in the 60m last weekend at the Husky Classic.
