SEATTLE – Ten different Redhawks broke into the scoring column as Seattle U men's basketball took down the Lamar Cardinals, 76-50, Saturday afternoon at the Redhawk Center.

The win completed a perfect 2-0 homestand and pushed the Redhawks' home winning streak to eight. At 19-6 overall and 15-1 at home, the win also pushed Seattle U into a tie atop the Western Athletic Conference standings with a 10-2 league mark.

The offense came out on fire, as the Redhawks scored the first 10 points of the game and pushed the advantage to 18-5 early. A mid-half drought did not ultimately slow the squad as Viktor Rajković jump shot with just 45 seconds left in the half capped off a 10-0 run and pushed the Seattle U lead to 26 points, and the home team went into the break with the 43-19 advantage.

After struggling to hit from deep in recent outings, the Redhawks hit seven first-half threes and finished with 10 on the day. A balanced attack up and down the lineup continued in the second half and Interim Head Coach Chris Victor was able to clear his bench late.

Kobe Williamson joined Rajković with a team high 14 points. Brandton Chatfield added 11 points and seven rebounds while Darrion Trammell finished the night with 10 points, six assists and four steals.

The Redhawks forced Lamar (2-22, 0-13 WAC) into 15 turnovers which were converted into 23 points on the other end. The victory was capped off by a Matthew Levis three that extended the SU lead to a game-high 28 points.

Seattle U never trailed in the victory and the 26-point margin is the second largest against a DI opponent this season.

Next on the schedule is a one-game road trip to Texas for a rematch with UTRGV on Wednesday, Feb 16. Tipoff in Edinburg is scheduled for 7 p.m. Central Time, 5 p.m. Pacific. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and can be heard on the airwaves on KXSU 102.1 FM in Seattle and kxsu.org.
