SEATTLE - The season continues this week as the Seattle U Redhawks return to action, hitting the road to take on Whitworth. This will be Seattle U's first competition since December, when the Redhawks hosted Simon Fraser across a three-day meet. This is also the penultimate meet of the regular season and the final road meet. The Redhawks have one more home meet before the WAC Championships in February. Seattle U will host Southwest Oregon Community College on Saturday, February 5 for Senior Day.

FOLLOW THE REDHAWKS
This is the tenth consecutive year that the Redhawks have competed against the Pirates, with the two schools meeting every year since 2012-13. Seattle U's women are 9-1 in that time against Whitworth, while the men hold a 10-0 record in that time, winning every matchup with Whitworth.

Last season, the Redhawks won 16 events against Whitworth, with the women earning seven event titles and the men nine. Alexa Hoeper won two events, taking the 100 Back and 200 Back titles, while Cassie Koester, Allison Plamondon, and Tessa Oliver all earned titles on the women's side and return for this year's meet.

For the men, Will Corona led the way with titles in the 100 Back, 200 Back, and 400 Medley Relay, alongside Tyler Goodspeed, Jack Neton, and Connor Barringer. Goodspeed also earned the win in the 100 Free, Barringer in the 200 Free, and Neton in the 200 IM. Juan Varela also had an individual event win, taking home the 1000 Free title.

It was a busy winter break for the Redhawks, who had numerous athletes competing around the country. Neton competed at the U.S. Open Championships, swimming the 200 Breast. Nicholas Imig swam the 50 Free at Winter Junior Nationals, setting a new lifetime best. Cole Lanting also swam at the Winter Junior Nationals: Lanting had lifetime bests in the 200 IM and the 200 Free, then swam the fastest 100 Free time for a freshman in Seattle U history.

This will be Seattle U's first action since a three-day meet against Simon Fraser in December. At that meet, the Redhawks swam 11 total all-time top-ten times. That included Lanting swimming the third-fastest time ever in the 100 Free for the Redhawks. Sammy Mosier had the third-fastest 100 Fly time at that meet as well.

The last meet of the regular season will be Senior Day at home against Southwest Oregon Community College on February 5. After that, it will be off to the WAC Championships in Houston, Texas. The WAC Championships begin on February 24.
