SPOKANE, Wash. - Seattle U men's tennis concluded its weekend in Spokane, Wash., against Nevada Saturday at the Stevens Center on the campus of Gonzaga. Victories in both doubles and singles for freshman Filip Stipic were not enough to help the Redhawks push for a victory as they fell, 1-6, to the Wolf Pack.

In singles play, Stipic (6-7, 6-4, 1-0 (13-11)) came out on top against Juan Batalla as he completed the comeback victory via superset after dropping the first set. Freshman Michael Frank (5-7, 6-7) narrowly added another victory as he competed in two very close sets against Ambroise Marchand, while fellow freshman Veselin Kiselkov (2-6, 6-7) battled against Matheo Coupo and junior Lars Schmassmann fell in identical sets of 4-6, 4-6 against Gilad Tamar. Sophomore Mats Krause (3-6, 4-6) faced off against Satchel Benn and freshman Oliver Hall (1-6, 5-7) rounds out the singles matches as he squared off against Sasha Nicolau.

The 4-1 Wolf Pack opened the match by claiming the doubles point. Kiselkov and Stipic took home SU's lone victory in doubles play, defeating Marchand and Batalla by a score of 6-3. Frank and Krause were close to clinching the point but fell to Coupo and Loris Zisswiller, while senior Billy Givens-Jensen teamed up with freshman Jayden Harrison against Benn and Nicolau.

Seattle U will be back in action on Tuesday, January 25, for a rematch against Washington at the Lloyd Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle, starting at 4 p.m.
