SEATTLE – Five Redhawks scored in double figures as Seattle U men's basketball took down Dixie State, 79-68, in a Western Athletic Conference Saturday matinee at the Redhawk Center.

The win marked four in a row for the Redhawks (12-4, 3-0 WAC) who also improved to 3-0 in WAC play for the first time ever. The Trailblazers dropped to 8-10 overall and 1-4 inside the WAC.

Cameron Tyson led the way with 25 points for a second consecutive outing. The sophomore Bothell, Wash., native went 7-of-11 from beyond the arc and 8-of-15 from the field overall. He was joined in double figures by Emeka Udenyi (14 points), Darrion Trammell (13 points), Riley Grigsby (11 points) and Brandton Chatfield (10 points). Trammell added eight assists, five rebounds and four steals to his line. Udenyi chipped in five boards and four assists.

After both teams struggled to find separation in the early minutes of the game, a Tyson three at the 13:04 mark kicked off an 19-4 run over the next seven minutes of action for the Redhawks as they led 28-13.

Udenyi would get the home lead to a game high 20 points after a hook shot with one minute remaining in the half and the Redhawks would head into the break with a 44-26 advantage.

The Trailblazers crept back into the game with a run to start the second half that cut the Redhawk lead down to 10. Despite several more scoring runs, Dixie State was not able to come any closer than that for the remainder of the game.

Darrion Trammell hit a step-back three with 7:25 remaining to push the lead back to 18 before Tyson knocked down three straight from behind the arc to reach his sixth game of at least 20 points on the season.

Seattle U forced the Trailblazers into 19 total turnovers and turned that into 23 points on the other end to help put Dixie State away and secure their third win in a row inside of WAC play.

"Dixie State is a steal team. And if they're allowed to come in and play their rhythym, then they're pretty good," said Interim Head Coach Chris Victor. "One of our main goals was to make them uncomfortable with solid defense and good ball pressure. That was a big part of the win today."

Hunter Schofield led the way offensively for the Trailblazers scoring 25 points while adding eight rebounds.

Next up on the schedule is a road trip to Riverside, Calif., to take on California Baptist on Jan. 17. This will be the first match-up between the Redhawks and Lancers on the season with tip-off scheduled for 7 pm at the CBU Events Center.
