BOISE, Idaho  – A defensive battle turned into a late thriller as the Seattle U Redhawks beat the Boise State Broncos 63-61. After neither team could find offensive flow early on, Seattle U came to life with a flurry of three-pointers in the fourth quarter while holding Boise State to just three field goals in the final five minutes.

"There were just too many clutch plays down the stretch to talk about them all," said Head Coach Suzy Barcomb. "I will say it was a total team effort, gutting out another road win."

Bree Calhoun had her shot working from tip, matching her season high with 18 points, her second straight game scoring over 15 points and third in the last four. Calhoun would also lead the team with three steals, stealing the inbounds pass with 11 seconds left in a three-point game to seal the victory.

In all, the Redhawks had four different players record multiple steals, holding Boise State to 32% shooting and forcing 18 turnovers. Jadynn Alexander, Hailey Vice-Neat, and Peyton Howard all had two steals for the Redhawks.

McKenzi Williams had a big fourth quarter, scoring nine points while making three of her four three-point attempts. She would end the game with 12 points, joining Calhoun in double figures.

Boise State would stretch its lead to five points, its biggest lead of the second half, after an and-one play in the fourth quarter. Seattle U came alive from there: the Redhawks would go on a 12-5 run, going 4-for-4 on three-pointers during that stretch to take the lead. T

he defense held Boise State to just four field goals the rest of the game, with Howard and Calhoun each sinking their free throws late to keep the game out of reach. That was part of a showing that saw the Redhawks shoot 82% from the stripe, the third time in the last four games the Redhawks have shot over 80% at the line.
