SEATTLE – Seattle U men's basketball games will find a new home on the radio for the 2021-22 season, beginning a partnership with the university's radio station, KXSU 102.1 FM.
"We are thrilled to announce another innovative partnership that showcases the talents of Seattle University while engaging the student body with experiential educational opportunities," said Director of Athletics Shaney Fink. "This partnership with KXSU and Director of Student Media, Randy Scott, is yet another example of how intercollegiate athletics helps to create a 'laboratory' for student development."
All games, home and away, can be heard on 102.1 FM in the local Seattle area, as well as worldwide on KXSU.org. Broadcasts will begin with a 15-minute pregame show, featuring Head Coach Jim Hayford. Halftime and postgame coverage will include interviews with coaching staff and players.
"The mission of KXSU is to entertain, inspire, and educate listeners by offering diverse programming," said Director of Student Media, Randy Scott. "We are excited to be adding sports broadcasting to our on-air lineup. It furthers our mission and offers students a unique opportunity to gain new transferrable skills and learn about sports media in a hands-on way."
In addition to tuning into games on the radio, 2021-22 will mark the second consecutive year that Seattle U basketball home games will air live on ESPN+ and the ESPN App.
