PULLMAN, Wash. – Nate Robinson and Viktor Rajković combined for 27 points off the bench for Seattle U as the Redhawks hung with Washington State through one half of play. But the Cougs asserted themselves in the second frame with a 25-15 rebounding advantage and 14 second-chance points as the home team pulled away for a 79-61 final at Beasley Coliseum Friday night.

Robinson had 12 of his game-high 17 points in the first half, hitting a trio of threes to help the Redhawks keep pace. Darrion Trammell added nine points in the frame while being limited to just 11 minutes due to early foul trouble. Cameron Tyson also found himself sidelined early after picking up two early fouls.

A 20-13 rebounding edge and big threes from Robinson sent the teams into halftime with the Cougs leading by just three, 35-32.

WSU opened the second half with a 7-0 run and the Redhawks struggled to find offensive rhythm as the home team opened up a 49-35 advantage just four minutes in.

Rajković twice hit buckets to cut the spread down to single digits, but the Redhawks would get no closer than nine.

The 10-point outing was a career high for Rajković who played the first five minutes of Seattle U's season opener in 2020-21 before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He added a team-high eight rebounds.

Grigsby finished with 12 points and Trammell had 11 to go along with seven assists.

Washington State was paced by Tyrell Roberts' 17 points. Noah Williams and Dishon Jackson added 13 points apiece.

The Redhawks return to Seattle to close out a busy stretch of three games in six days, hosting Idaho State on Sunday in the first basketball game to take place at Climate Pledge Arena. Tip off against the Bengals is set for 5 p.m. and will serve as the culminating event of a festive Homecoming week at Seattle U.
