THE WINDY SEA-TY
The Redhawks are 13-2 all-time against Chicago State. That includes a 6-1 record on the road. Seattle U's only loss at Chicago State came in 2018 in straight sets. The last time the Redhawks visited Chicago State, it was a five-set win. Eve Kerschenbaum had 18 kills in that match, while Ezgi Ozkan had a double-double with 44 assists and 15 digs.
KILLIN' IT
Eve Kerschenbaum needs just nine more kills to tie Libby Graff for the sixth-most in Seattle U history with 775. Kerschenbaum is averaging 2.59 kills per set in her career, the seventh-best mark in program history. Kerschenbaum has faced Chicago State three times in her career: in those three matches, she has 39 kills.
EZGI OZ-SSIST
Ezgi Ozkan is also closing in on history, needing 50 more assists to become the fourth Redhawk ever with 1500 career assists. She would join Jamie Mellies, Kerry Lane, and Shae Harris in that regard. Ozkan has double-digit assists in 18 of 21 matches this season. With 34 more assists, Ozkan will record her third straight 350+ assist season.
LAUREN MCCABE, SHE BLOCKS STUFF
Lauren McCabe has recorded multiple blocks in five consecutive matches, with four or more blocks in four of those. McCabe had multiple blocks in six of the first 17 matches before this streak. McCabe has multiple solo blocks in two of those five matches: she had never recorded multiple solo blocks in a match before this season and has more than doubled her solo block career total this season, from 12 to 25. Three more solo blocks would give McCabe the tenth-most in a single season in Seattle U history.
AZZIA MAC-DEFENSE
Azzia MacDonald put up ten blocks in two matches last weekend after entering the weekend with three blocks in her career. MacDonald now has 13 blocks on the season, with two solo blocks.
CAN YOU DIG IT
Kailee Kurokawa has multiple digs in five consecutive matches and in eight of the last nine, giving her 55 digs on the season. Kurokawa now has over 300 career assists and 300 career digs. She has multiple assist and multiple digs in three of the last five matches.
200 IS TWICE AS GOOD AS 100
Sierra Bartley broke the 200-kill mark on the season last weekend and now sits at 208 kills on the season. Only three players in the WAC have more kills than Bartley and a better hitting percentage than Bartley's .250 mark.
WATERS DIGS
Kylie Waters broke the 150-dig mark on the season and 200-dig mark in her career last week. Waters has averaged 11 digs per match over the last six matches, with four double-digit dig performances in that time. Waters has 15 or more digs in four matches this year, including two of the last four.
