SEATTLE – Seattle University women's soccer tied, 0-0 in double overtime, with Dixie State Thursday night. The Redhawks dominated for portions of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) match at Championship Field, but the teams went home with a draw.

"It was a game that we dominated at times," said SU Coach Julie Woodward. "We didn't get the result we wanted, but we created some great chances. We can feel good about our performance, but we need to find ways to find the back of the net."

Seattle U was the better side in the first half, slanting the field and challenging the DSU backline. The Redhawks possessed well and tried eight shots, while they did not allow a shot until the 45th minute.

In the second frame, SU kept at it, pounding the Blazer defense and keeping the ball away from its own net for much of the half. Midway through the period, the Redhawks earned a free kick near the top of the box. A cross in to traffic was nearly headed in by Jolie St Louis, but DSU made the stop to keep the game scoreless. Despite a flurry of action by the Redhawks as time wound down, the match headed to OT even at zero.

SU dominated the first extra session, claiming two free kicks and a corner as it searched for the winner. Hallie Bergford had the best look in the second OT, but the Blazers were there to deny the shot.

Seattle U held a 23-5 advantage in shots. DSU's goalkeeper made 12 saves on the night.

The Redhawks host Utah Valley in a rematch of the Spring 2021 WAC Tournament Championship on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at Championship Field.
