SEATTLE - The season kicks off this weekend for the Seattle U Redhawks, as both the men's and women's teams will be swimming at the Logger Relays, hosted by the University of Puget Sound. This will be the first action of the 2021-22 season for Seattle U and one of two times the Redhawks will face off with the Loggers. Seattle U will play host to UPS on November 13 as well, the first home meet of the season for the men's team and second for the women's.
FOLLOW THE REDHAWKS
Last year, the Redhawks had 11 performances that went down as top-ten all-time times at Seattle U. Every one of those athletes is back this year looking to move further up the record books. Will Corona, who has five individual performances in Seattle U's top-ten lists, will return for his junior season. Juan Varela, Kyle Bailey, and Jack Neton are all back as well, which each of them holding multiple spots on the individual top-ten lists.
On the women's side, Seattle U, Himes, who holds four spots in the top ten, is also joined by returners Cassie Koester and Tessa Oliver, who have three times each in the top ten. Manna Nelson, Isabella Guadiamos, Michaela Day, and Alexa Hoeper all have multiple times in the top ten as well. Hoeper, a junior, holds Seattle U's second-best time ever in the 200 Back. She joins Corona (100 Back and 200 IM) and Varela (1650 Free) as current Redhawks with top-two all-time individual times.
The Redhawks will look for big things from their ten freshmen. Nine current Redhawks set program freshman records in their first year at Seattle U, with those ten set to challenge those records across the board.
