Women's Tennis Finishes Play at ITA Regional Championships

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Seattle U women's tennis finished play at the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Stanford, in Palo Alto, California, on Saturday.

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Seattle U women's tennis finished play at the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Stanford, in Palo Alto, California, on Saturday. 

Seattle U freshman made up the three singles matches that took place on Friday. Liliya Dimova (3-6, 4-6) battled against Oregon's Allison Mulville, while Elena Kraleva (0-6, 2-6) matched up against San Francisco's Caragh Courtney and Jade Quintana (0-6, 1-6) faced off against Stanford's Niluka Madurawe.

In consolation play on Saturday, Kraleva claimed the victory against Cal Poly's Laura Bente, 6-2, 6-2. Dimova (7-5, 2-6, 4-10) started off strong in her matchup against San Francisco's Chiho Mushika but wasn't able to continue her early momentum, while Quintana (1-6, 1-6) rounds out the singles action for SU against Gonzaga's Frederikke Svarre. 

In doubles play, Dimova and Kraleva dropped Seattle U's lone doubles match of the competition, 2-6, against Saint Mary's Kozyreva and Massey. 

Seattle U's next match will be against Washington State in Pullman, Wash., on January 16.
