SEATTLE — Seattle University baseball and head coach Donny Harrel announced a 55-game schedule for the 2021 season on Tuesday.

This year's slate features six teams who were among the NCAA RPI top 150 last season, in addition a number non-conference matchups with a Pacific Northwest flair.

Seattle U starts the season with 15-of-18 games on the road, beginning with back-to-back four-game sets against Portland (Feb. 19-21) and Oregon (Feb. 26-28). The Redhawks will then head up the road to Washington as it will host the SU and Washington State for a round robin series on March 12-14.

Wedged between the dates with Oregon and UW/WSU, the Redhawks will open their home schedule against Washington State (Mar. 5-7). The three-game series with the Cougars will be the Redhawks' lone non-conference series at Bannerwood Park this season.

Seattle U will wrap up non-conference action later in the year when it stays in-state to face Washington State (May 5) and Gonzaga (May 7-9).

Seattle U is scheduled to open Western Athletic Conference play at Grand Canyon (Mar. 19-21), before closing our the month of March at home against NM State (Mar. 26-28).

In April, the Redhawks make travel to the Centennial State to face Northern Colorado (Apr. 1-3), before embarking on an eight-game road trip with stops at Sacramento State (Apr. 16-18) and UTRGV (Apr. 23-25). In the interim, conference newcomer Tarleton will make its inaugural visit to the Emerald City for a series penciled for April 9-11.

Closing out the conference slate, the Redhawks head to Utah to take on newcomer Dixie State (May 14-16), after hosting California Baptist (Apr. 30-May 2). Utah Valley (May 20-22) then visits Seattle to end the regular season.

This season's WAC Tournament is scheduled for May 26-30, and is set to return to Hohokam Stadium in Meza, Ariz.

One of many adjustments announced earlier this year by the WAC, was the shift to a four-game series for the 2021 campaign. The modification will be played over a three-day period, with the second day of each series planned to serve as a doubleheader featuring a seven and nine-inning contest.

In accordance with state and local regulations and in the interest of public health, the season will begin without fans in attendance at Bannerwood Park. Health and safety guidelines will be monitored on an ongoing basis to determine if limited capacity options become available at any point during the season. For the health and safety of participating student-athletes, staff and game personnel, access will be permitted only to participating teams and essential workers.
