FRESNO, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf wrapped up play on Tuesday at the Nick Watney Invitational, finishing eighth out of 14 teams. The Redhawks posted a team score of 32-over, with their best round of 293 coming in the second round. SU finished with the third best par three scoring at 6-over with an average of 3.10 over the two-day event. The event took place at San Joaquin Country Club in Fresno, Calif., on the 7,001 yards course with a par of 71.
Senior Federico Gutierrez led the way for the Redhawks, finishing tied for 19th with a three-round total of 217 (72-73-72), while fellow senior Nathan Cogswell (71-74-73) finished one stroke behind him and sophomore Blake Kukula (77-73-73) improved upon his three-round score from the previous tournament. Rounding out the participants from Seattle U are senior Harrison Murphy and freshman Liam Gill who finished with three-round totals of 229 (76-75-78) and 231 (81-73-77), respectively.
The Redhawks return to action on October 11-12, when they travel to Beaverton, Ore., to compete in the Oregon State Beaver Invitational at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
