Men's Tennis Releases 2021-22 Schedule

SEATTLE - Seattle U men's tennis has released its 2021-22 season schedule, featuring two fall tournaments and 22 spring matches. The all-important Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament, taking place from Apr. 21-24 in Beaumont, Tex., concludes the Redhawk's season.

SEATTLE - Seattle U men's tennis has released its 2021-22 season schedule, featuring two fall tournaments and 22 spring matches. The all-important Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Tournament, taking place from Apr. 21-24 in Beaumont, Tex., concludes the Redhawk's season.
 
"I am very excited to welcome all our new athletes to the team," said Head Coach Kristina Hollander. "We are looking forward to competing in these tournaments, especially because we missed out on this last year. We are pumped for this season and can't wait to get started."
 
The men open their fall slate with the PNW Invitational, hosted by George Fox, at the Multi-use Facility in Newberg, Ore., from Oct. 1-3 and wrap up their fall tournaments with the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 13-17 in Eugene, Ore.
 
The Redhawks will then open the spring season with matches at Washington, Oregon and Gonzaga on Jan. 12, 15 and 22, respectively. The week following the Gonzaga match, they head to Bozeman, Mont., for matches against Montana State and Oral Roberts on Jan. 28 and 29. SU then makes it way to Boise, Idaho, for matchups against Montana and North Dakota on Feb. 5 and close out the weekend with Boise State on Feb. 6. The following weekend has them returning to Idaho for a match against Idaho in Moscow on Feb. 12, followed up by a trip to Cheney, Wash., for a matchup with Eastern Washington the next day.

The Redhawks will then have a weekend off before traveling to Hillsboro and Newberg, Ore., for matches against Pacific and George Fox on Feb. 19 and 20. They will finish out their non-conference schedule with two consecutive weekend trips, first heading to California for matchups against UC Davis and Sacramento State on Mar. 5 and 6 and concluding with UNLV and DePaul on Mar. 12 and 13 in Las Vegas, Nev.

WAC cluster play begins Mar. 17-18 in Las Cruces, N.M., with matches against new WAC opponents Lamar and Abilene Christian and continue the following week in Beaumont, Tex., with Grand Canyon and NM State scheduled for Mar. 24-25. WAC cluster conference play concludes with two matches against UTRGV and Chicago State from Apr. 8-9 in Abilene, Tex.
 
Seattle U welcomes five new freshman in Michael Frank, Oliver Hall, Jayden Harrison, Veselin Kiselkov and Filip Stipic. The returners are sophomores Mats Krause, George Miller and 2020-21 All-WAC Honorable Mention (Singles) Julian Worn, junior Lars Schmassmann and seniors Billy Givens-Jensen and Juan Pablo Jaramillo.
