TOURNAMENT PREVIEW: Men's Golf at Nick Watney Invitational

FRESNO, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf will begin its second tournament of the season on Monday when round one and two of the Nick Watney Invitational tee off in Fresno, Calif. The two-day event is scheduled to take place from September 27-28 at the San Joaquin Country Club on the 7,001 yards course with a par of 71.

FRESNO, Calif. - Seattle U men's golf will begin its second tournament of the season on Monday when round one and two of the Nick Watney Invitational tee off in Fresno, Calif. The two-day event is scheduled to take place from September 27-28 at the San Joaquin Country Club on the 7,001 yards course with a par of 71.

The Redhawks will be competing against golfers from Cal Baptist, CSUN, CSU Fullerton, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Idaho, Pacific Sacramento State, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and the hosts, Fresno State. They will be sending seniors Federico Gutierrez, Nathan Cogswell and Harrison Murphy, sophomore Blake Kukula and freshman Liam Gill

This will be the fifth consecutive year SU has competed in the Nick Watney Invitational. Senior Nathan Cogswell has demonstrated his quality in this tournament in years past, having finished in fourth place twice. As a freshman in 2018, Cogswell shot a 10-under 206 (72-68-66) at the Dragonfly Golf Club and followed up the next year with a stellar third round at the Fort Washington Country Club when he shot a 10-under 203 (72-68-63).
