DENVER, Colo. - Seattle U women's golf freshman Rivekka Jumagulova has been named Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Golfer of the Week, for the week of September 15-21, the WAC announced on Wednesday.
The Almaty, Kazakhstan, native demonstrated her skills this past week at the Gonzaga Invitational, finishing in a tie for third place in just her second collegiate tournament. Jumagulova's play was extremely consistent as she shot a three-round total of 214 (70-73-71). She finished with the best par three scoring as an individual with an average of 2.73 and a score of 4-under. This is her second top-20 performance of the season as she tied for 14th at the Wolverine Invitational on September 14.
Jumagulova and the Redhawks next tournament will have them travel to Las Cruces, N.M., from October 4-6 to compete in the New Mexico State Aggie Invitational at the Red Hawk Golf Club.
