DENVER – Jessica Berlin of Seattle University women's soccer has been picked Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Defensive Player of the Week, for the period ending on Sept. 12. The goalkeeper made nine saves in SU's win at Washington State last week.
Berlin, a Burke, Virginia, native, was vital in SU's victory over the Cougars. She recorded six second-half stops as the Redhawks rallied for a 2-1 win in Pullman.
In five starts this season, Berlin is 3-1-1 with a shutout. She has an .818 save percentage and a 1.12 goals against average.
Last week, freshman Kait Raffensperger earned WAC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Seattle U hosts Washington on Thursday night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. at Championship Field.
