SEATTLE - The road trip continues for the Redhawks this week, with Seattle U heading to Albuquerque, New Mexico for a three-match week. The Redhawks will have a doubleheader Friday, September 10, playing UC San Diego at 9:00 am PT and host New Mexico at 5:30 pm PT. The final match of the weekend will be Saturday, September 11 at 9:00 am PT against Southeastern Louisiana. Now with the first win of the season under their belt, the Redhawks will look to continue their strong play against three relatively unknown opponents: Seattle U has played UC San Diego, New Mexico, and Southeastern Louisiana a combined three times in program history.

EZ-SISTS

Ezgi Ozkan reached 1200 career assists last weekend, becoming the fifth in D-I history to reach that mark. Ozkan joined Jamie Mellies, Kerry Lane, Shae Harris, and Jacquie Brice in that regard. Ozkan is now fourth in D-I history for Seattle U. Since starting this year with a five-assist match, Ozkan has double digit assists in six straight, including one 21-assist match, at Montana.

SIERRA SEES IT THROUGH

Sierra Bartley had back-to-back double-digit kill performances last week, including a career-best 15-kill match against Air Force. It was the first 15-kill match for a Redhawk since February 23, 2021, when Sophia Bertotti Metoyer had 15 kills against Dixie State. No Redhawk has had more kills in a single match since Eve Kerschenbaum's 19 on November 14, 2019.

BLOCKS!

Julia Queiroz had here third consecutive match with multiple blocks, picking up two against Oklahoma. After picking up one block in her first two matches, Queiroz has seven in the last three, including a three-block performance against Air Force. Queiroz is already over halfway to last season's block total of 15.

EVE KILL-SCHENBAUM

Eve Kerschenbaum needs just two more kills to be the seventh WAC player with 70+ already this season. Kerschenbaum is also moving up Seattle U's all-time standings: she needs 11 kills to match Katarina Marinkovic for eighth in Seattle U history and 23 to match Rachel Stark for seventh.

A HELPING HAND

Darian Goins has recorded three 20+ assist matches already this year, including two career-high 27-assist performances. Goins' 113 assist rank tenth in the WAC entering this week. Goins' back-to-back 20+ assist matches were the first by a Redhawk since Ezgi Ozkan had 42 and 39 in back-to-back matches against UTRGV last season.
