Trio of Men's Golfers Named All-America Scholars

NORMAN, Okla. – Nathan Cogswell, Federico Gutierrez and Jack Rahon of Seattle U men's golf have all been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

NORMAN, Okla.Nathan Cogswell, Federico Gutierrez and Jack Rahon of Seattle U men's golf have all been named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate's Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 40% of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, under 78.0 in NAIA, and under 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.

Cogswell wrapped up his junior season as an All-Western Athletic Conference First Team selection with a team-low 73.15 scoring average and a top-10 finish at the WAC Championship. Gutierrez concluded his sophomore season with a 754.28 scoring average and a pair of sub-par rounds over six tournaments. Rahon, a a junior, tallied a scoring average of 73.90, with six sub-par rounds and a pair of eagle shots.

This marks the second year in a row that the Redhawks have had three individual honorees, including second consecutive honors for both Cogswell and Rahon.
