SEATTLE – Seattle University women's basketball has announced the hiring of ZsaZsa Lawson as the program's new Director of Operations for the 2021-22 season. Coach Suzy Barcomb has completed her staff for the upcoming season with Lawson's hiring.

"We have found the final piece for our staff and ZsaZsa is a perfect fit for our program, University and our wonderful community," said Barcomb. "She will have an immediate impact with our student athletes."

Lawson has spent the last five seasons as an assistant coach at Cal Poly Pomona, helping the program advance to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances. Prior to that, she coached at Mt. San Antonio College for four years. Lawson also worked as a coach with the West Coast Premier Basketball Academy from 2013-17.  As a player, Lawson helped Mt. SAC win two state titles before going on to BYU-Hawai'i to wrap up her collegiate career.

Off the court, Lawson spent the last four years as a Kinesiology & Health Promotion Lecturer at Cal Poly Pomona.  Last year, she served as an executive board member for CPP Athletics' Racial Equity Committee. The committee designed and provided programs centered around systemic racism education, implicit bias training and overall wellness. Lawson also served as a member of the diversity and inclusion committee for both CPP's student affairs division and the CCAA conference.
