CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Seattle University women's golf has been named a recipient of the 2020-21 Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all of the team's student-athletes for the 2019-20 season.
The Redhawks made the elite list with a team GPA of 3.878 for the 2020-21 season. The mark ranked eighth among all NCAA Division I programs. New Mexico led the list with an average GPA of 3.993.
"This group of women has continuously raised the academic bar for our program," said Head Coach Marc Chandonnet. "I am thankful for the team's commitment to being outstanding students, especially during these inconsistent times."
Last month, seven Redhawks were among those named WGCA All-American Scholars, earning a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above. Those honorees included sophomores Azumi Arai and Megan Kelly, junior Samantha Bruce, seniors Vendela From, Keisha Lugito and Kimberlee Tottori and graduate student Krystal Hu. The seven honorees tops all teams in the Western Athletic Conference.
