The Seattle U baseball program began the 2021 baseball season with six former members among the professional ranks. During the course of the summer, #ProRedhawk Notes will provide a bi-weekly update of each player.
Tarik Skubal – P, Detroit Tigers (MLB)
Season Stats (15 games): 4-7, 4.33 ERA, 70.2 IP, 85 SO, 1.44 WHIP
Skubal improved to 4-7 on the year earning a road victory over the Kansas City Royals on June 16 as he tossed seven strikeouts and allowed three runs in six innings. He then garnered a no-decision on June 22 against the St. Louis Cardinals as he struck out four in 4.2 innings.
Eric Yardley – P, Milwaukee Brewers (MLB)
Season Stats (17 games): 0-0, 6.75 ERA, 18.2 IP, 5 SO, 1.82 WHIP
Yardley had a tough relief appearance on June 17 against the Colorado Rockies, as he allowed two runs, one earned, in a 0.2 innings.
Janson Junk – P, Somerset Patriots (AA) – New York Yankees
Season Stats (9 games): 3-1, 1 SV, 1.07 ERA, 42.0 IP, 46 SO, 0.79 WHIP
On June 22, Junk was named the Double-A Northeast Pitcher of the Week, after the right-hander struck out four batters and allowed one run on a one hit in six innings. As a result, he lowered his ERA to 1.03, which led all qualified minor league pitchers. In his last appearance, June 25, Junk recorded his third-straight win, striking out three and allowing one run on three hits in seven solid innings.

Zach Wolf – P, Pensacola Blue Wahoos (AA) – Miami Marlins
Season Stats (13 games): 1-2, 5.57 ERA, 21.0 IP, 23 SO, 1.24 WHIP
Wolf recorded his first win of the season against the Montgomery Biscuits on June 15. The righty tossed a perfect inning with one K as he entered the game in the top half of the ninth after the Blue Wahoos cut the deficit to 4-3 in the eighth but eventually registering a 5-4 walk-off win.
Jake Prizina – P, Aberdeen IronBirds (High-A) – Baltimore Orioles
Season Stats (10 games): 2-1, 2.89 ERA, 28.0 IP, 28 SO, 1.07 WHIP
Prizina earned his first start of the 2021 season on June 22 as the IronBirds faced the Rome Braves. It was not an ideal day however for the 2019 draft pick as he suffered the loss after allowing six runs on six hits in 3.0 innings. Five days later Prizina faced Rome again. He garnered a no-decision as he worked five innings with three K's and one run on three hits.
Brandon Jenkins – P, Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (Low-A) – Chicago White Sox
Season Stats (11 games): 0-0, 0.63 ERA, 14.1 IP, 20 SO, 1.47 WHIP
Jenkins faced the minimum as he worked a scoreless inning of relief against the Down East Wood Ducks on June 18.
