SEATTLE – Seattle University women's basketball Associate Head Coach Joddie Gleason has accepted the head coach position at Eastern Washington University, EWU announced on Friday. Gleason has been on SU Coach Suzy Barcomb's staff for the last five seasons.

"Joddie took a big leap of faith five years ago, joining me in Seattle," said Barcomb. "She has been instrumental in our overall success, both on the court, recruitment, and in the classroom and community. I cannot thank her enough for going on this journey with me at Seattle. I'm so excited for Joddie's opportunity."

Joddie Gleason has been the Redhawks' offensive coordinator, along with working with scheduling and scouting reports.

"I would like to thank Seattle University and Athletic Director, Shaney Fink, for the opportunity to work with the women's basketball program and for creating an atmosphere where we could thrive in Seattle," said Joddie Gleason. "I feel fortunate to have been able to work with Coach Barcomb and the student-athletes in this program; these relationships are ones that I will cherish well past my time at SU. I am excited for this next phase, and to lead the Eastern Washington women's basketball program."

The Redhawks have been strong competitors in the WAC during Barcomb's tenure, winning the 2018 WAC Tournament Championship. The title marked SU's first trip to the Division I NCAA Tournament.

Seattle U will begin a national search for her position.
