OKLAHOMA CITY – Carley Nance, Ally Choate, and Bailey Thompson of Seattle University softball have been named 2021 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region, the organization announced on Thursday morning. Nance claimed second team honors, while Choate and Thompson were chosen third.

Nance, the only player in this year's NCAA Tournament with two conference tournament MVP awards, has been at her best down the stretch. She won all three WAC Tournament games in the circle, hitting three home runs on her way to tournament MVP honors. Nance was a Second Team All-WAC honoree, leading the league in ERA this season. The native of Maple Valley, Wash., has posted a 2.76 ERA with 10 wins and seven complete games this year. She is one of eight players in this year's NCAA Tournament with 10 wins and five homers in 2021. In her career, Nance has 43 wins, 29 complete games, and 330 strikeouts. She earned NFCA All-Region in 2019.

Choate leads the Redhawks in batting, on-base percentage, and hits this season. The senior from Yelm, Wash., has been a standout for SU throughout her career. Choate earned NFCA All-Region honors in 2019 and has been picked First Team All-WAC in each year she could in her career (2018, 2019, 2021).

In 2021, Choate has made 47 starts in rightfield. She's hitting .375 with a .442 on-base percentage. The First Team All-WAC selection tallied 57 hits to go with 28 runs, 15 walks, and four doubles. Choate sports a 15-game hitting streak and a 32-game streak of reaching base entering this weekend's NCAA Tournament. She has 210 career hits, third-most in school history. Her 120 runs scored are second-most at SU. She is a career .361 hitter as a Redhawk.

Thompson is the best catcher in SU history. The native of Tuscon, Ariz., capped a terrific career with a standout senior season, batting .333 in 47 starts. She paced the Redhawks with nine home runs, 45 RBIs, 14 HBPs, and .624 slugging percentage. Thompson, a First Team All-WAC pick, holds the program record with 38 HBPs in her career. She also has 28 home runs and 113 RBIs, both top five marks in school history. Thompson is a two-time First Team All-WAC choice to go with a Second Team All-WAC honor in 2018.

Seattle U won its second WAC Tournament title last weekend and will play in its second straight NCAA Tournament at UW this weekend. SU faces No. 20 Michigan on Friday at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
